Here is our pick of glamorous places to stay in France, so pack the leash and the treats, and enjoy a vacation with Fido or Fluffy at one of these pet-friendly hotels.
Maison de Plumes – Pas de Calais
Make your first stop en route south the gorgeous Maison de Plumes. Nestled in the picturesque 7 valleys of the Pas de Calais countryside this ‘Art Deco’ designed boutique b&b offers 5 unique bird themed guest rooms. Maison de Plumes is set in a 200 year old ’Maison de Maitre’ and is owned and run by very friendly British hosts, Richard and Vanessa who will welcome you like long lost friends. You can also enjoy a gourmet 5 course table d’hote dinner (on selected evenings) with your fellow guests.
Their own canine kids, Barney the staffie and Didier the French bulldog will be more than eager to play with your pooch so only friendly dogs (and guests) are welcome! Dogs are only accepted in the beautiful Swan suite which has a separate entrance to the main house and its own garden. Small to medium dogs are charged at 25.00 euros per dog per night.
Hotel Regina – Paris
Located directly in Paris near the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and the Tuileries Garden (there is a fantastic dog park here), the five-star, luxury Hotel Regina boasts tranquillity, convenience, chic style and a famous history. Having been featured in more than 12 films, including action thriller Nikita and The Bourne Identity starring Matt Damon not to mention Kings Henry III, Henry IV and Louis XIII who learnt how to ride in the hotels former grounds this place is certainly unique!
Hotel Regina is run by the fourth generation of the same Parisian family and its 99 guest rooms and suites have been restored to their previous 19th century elegance which only adds to the charm of this historical establishment. Guests are invited to bring one dog or cat weighing up to 6 kg with them during their stay. The fee for this is 40 EUR per room, per night.
Villa Florentine – Lyon

Small dogs are welcome in the hotel with the following caveats: they must remain on a lead whenever outside of the room, they may not accompany their owners to the pool and they are not left in the room when guests are absent. There is an additional 50€ per day surcharge.
