The History of Corinthia
The Corinthia Hotel is situated in the royal borough of Westminster just steps away from Trafalgar Square and the River Thames. As one of London’s most distinguished 5 star hotels, this magnificent heritage building has been converted into a modern luxury destination from the former Metropole Hotel as it was way back in 1885. Requisitioned by the government during the First and second World Wars to be used as Government offices and staff accommodation it then continued to be used by the Defence Ministry for their offices untill the 1990s. In 2008, approval was accorded for the development of the building as a hotel and residential complex. The opulent and super luxurious Corinthia Hotel came into existence in 2011 and its popularity has been growing ever since.
